External Brushes and Channel Brushes for Medical device and scope cleaning

Efficiency of medical device cleaning without risk of scratching, even for fragile devices

All the fibers used by LTA Medical are a specific low absorbent thermoplastic

Keep the efficiency even with long immersion in water or disinfectant

No modification of the structure during the sterilization process (for reusable)

An easier introduction of the brush in the channel

  FEATURES & BENEFITS

   Using a Cleaning Brush

Mechanical action is one of the four components of the sterilization process for medical and surgical instruments.

The act of brushing is used to remove soiled particles, such as blood, tissue, biofilm and harmful particles, from internal and external channels before sterilization.

Manual cleaning with these brushes is performed to eliminate contamination and infection throughout the hospital. Please note these brushes are non-sterile

cleaning tools used prior to sterilization.

LTA has developed brush diameters to fit standard scope and surgical instrument channel widths.

When choosing a cleaning brush, consider:    - Material of the instrument   - Instrument shape    - Size

Improper Fit

Improper Fit

Proper Fit

Brush diameter is too small for the channel

Brush diameter is too large for the channel and

does not create proper friction

Brush diameter is adapted to the channel and

creates proper friction to clean inner channel

   Internal Brushes —Traction Cleaning

LTA Medical cleaning brushes have been designed for traction use. This brushing mode is recommended when possible – when the channel has 2 open ends.

Insert the non-brush end into the less contaminated side of the channel. Once the wand end appears on the other side of the channel pull through.

This allows for proper and continuous cleaning of the inner channel for medical and surgical instruments.  Cleaning by pushing the fiber end of the brush through

first creates a series of jerky and inconsistent movements within the shaft; this problem does not occur with traction cleaning.

Using the push cleaning method also creates a natural bending of the shaft, as shown above, which wears on the brush.
